I bought this out of frustration of trying to find a laptop stand that you could actually perch on your lap! Not one of the ones where you'd attach it to a desk.
I was thinking of giving up when I came across one of these. It's really quite cool and comes in a nice chocolate colour which is quite modern and blends nicely with the laptop colours.
One suprise was that it is like a solid foam style rather than a squishy style which at first I thought was a negative but it is actually quite a positive. It makes the laptop eye level and when typing it means your hands are level and wrists supported by the laptop so reduces risk of RSI.
Absorbs heat well and I have not had that uncomfortable heat dispersing itself in to my leg. It's very light and has a grippy material to hold your laptop and has an area where you can store accessories but I personally do not have a need for such a thing.
It supports a 15.4 inch laptop perfectly and there's no over-hang or anything like that. You can reverse for a 17 inch laptop and it works just the same, supports in the same way etc.
Great piece of kit for the money. Definitely handy for the people who want to use a laptop around the house but don't necessarily want to be hunched over a desk or coffee table but also do not want their laptop raising their core body temperature! (I am typing this review from the comfort of my bed)
So in my personal opinion a great buy.

It's very lightweight and can handle small laptops as well as 17" and larger sizes,infact I'm using the small side (you just flip it over if you want to use the larger surface area on the cushtop) for my Dell Vostro 17" laptop.The cover is washable and has a zip on one side so it can be removed for cleaning.
Usual Belkin lifetime warranty but what can go wrong with a product like this unless somehow you tear the fabric.
Cushtop is very handy for having your laptop on your bed or lap.

I have a 17" laptop which gets extremely hot on the lap. I was pleasently surprised that the CushTop does exactly what has been specified by the product details. Upon first appearance it looks quite thick and bulky, but this is actually an advantage because my screen is now perfectly at eye level. Its is very light and quite sturdy and most importantly I cannot feel any heat from my laptop. Only disadvantage which is minor is that the smell of the CushTop is pretty distinctive! Its is quite overpowering but I have been researching on the net that the smell does wear off fortuntely. I would definately recommend this product its one of the best on the market.

I've had a Fujitsu Siemens laptop for a year and a half now and have suffered most days from hot legs, as it gets extremely hot after a few hours of use. It became too much so I thought I'd give this CushTop from Belkin a try. Simply put, it's an excellent product.
Pros+:
Very comfortable - raises laptop to a perfect angle and height for me (I use the 17" side for my 15.4" laptop)
Keeps legs nice and cool
Very sturdy
Gap in middle - stuff your mouse/power adaptor/TV Remote(!) in there (this also serves well as a handle to easily lift and put down the CushTop/laptop on the floor for example.
Semi-portable
Cleans easily
Stylish - available in different colour schemes - orange and steel was my favourite
Belkin Lifetime Warranty
Cons-:
Doesn't fold flat so I can see it being bulky in some situations (especially travel)
Sometimes the feet on your notebook sink into the material meaning the air vents on the bottom become blocked (not too much of an issue though I don't think)
Highly recommended, more pros that cons and well worth it.

I was using a hardback book to pop my laptop on so that air could circulate around it whilst using it on my bed. Well first this is far lighter than the book. Also since it is angled its far better position for typing whilst sat up in bed. Also great for watching stuff on bbc iplayer. It has no smell like others have said. It is real comfortable on your lap. Plus I love the two sides so you can use different sized laptops on it. I like the linner pocket which is great for cable management. I normally don't have my battery plugged in when I am using the power cord and this stops the power cord accidently disconnecting if you move it. Great buy. Well done Belkin.
