I've had this mouse for a few years now, and am very impressed. the buttons on either side are literally revolutionary when configured as forward on the right, back on the left. i've found myself on many occasions trying to squeeze other mice fruitelssly!
its a very light mouse, and looks pretty sleek - not what i've come to expect from microsoft products in the past.
there is only 2 problems with this mouse:
1: on occasion the scroll wheel will 'scroll' once all by itself, which whilst not a problem for web browsing, can be a killer if playing games like half life 2 which use the scroll wheel to change weapons etc.
2: the 4 pads on the bottom of the mouse tend to accumulate what can only be described as a layer of compressed dust! this makes it move less smoothly, and will require cleaning every 1 month or so.
all in all, an excellent purchase, especially considering the price, which has trumped all other 'cordless' mice i've sed to date.
as with all optical mice, i believe it works a million times better without a mouse pad - the wooden desk works wonders :D
