Compact Flash for DigiCams - 24 Sep 2004

Got one for my wife's Pentax a year ago, and it has performed faultlessly since then. Tried it in my own Minolta DiMAGE A1 and it gave a write-speed of 940kB/sec, even faster than the 256MB cards. It's the fastest card we own, including SanDisk (as supplied with the Minolta) and Dane Elec (various). And at these prices, it's unbeatable!

I've been using this card for about 9 months now with a Nikon Coolpix 3100. No problems at all - stores around 100 pics at highest resolution. Great value for money.

To start with, I would not have purchased this item from a place other than Amazon. When I paid £21.49, I knew that I would be getting value for my money even if the product wasnt really the best in the market.

Well, the product is not too bad. I purchased it with my Canon Powershot A60, though I know a lot of people who use it with digital cameras of other brands like Kodak, Minolta, etc.

As I said, dont expect too much from this CF card. It offers 128MB of storage space and thats really the way to look at it :-)

I observed the following on using this CF card:

* My camera shows only 123MB storage. Now I dont know if thats a problem with my camera or with the card.

* The card is slow. This can be felt especially during video recording. The recording speed of the camera is much faster than what the card is able to handle and due to this, the video recording often stops abruptly. There is no fixed time and it could stop after 1 min, 2 min or 3 min (generally between 2 and 3). However, there is a way around it. Switch to the 'play' mode and switch back to the 'shoot' mode, you shd start recording again. With the full 123 MB capacity, I could get 8 minutes of good quality video.

Hope you find this useful...

I bought my Canon Powershot A40 and then realised it came with a 8 meg card, good for about 3 pictures on maximum quality! With this i can easily fit more that a 100, and on low quality about 1500!works fine and delivered quickly.
