Cruzing to frustration - 14 Nov 2007

Thanks SanDisk, thanks a lot. After 2 months of use my SanDisk has suddenly, and for no apparant reason whatsoever, has just stopped working. Every machine I plug it into reports a USB device has malfunctioned and won't read anything from it. As a University computing student who needs a Flash drive daily I am now screwed till I can get another, and it certinatly won't be a SanDisk, especially as it's not going to be fun re-writing 3 projects worth of code that was stored on my flash drive.
Yeah it looks and sounded flashy, indestructible titanium, yeah whatever, this product has broken itself, so what good is the titanium casing? Also it's worth noting that the retractable USB port, whilst a great idea, is awful on this, it's incredibly flimsy which means any slight knock when plugged into a computer would make it lose the connection, and now mine stops working altogether.
Do youself a favour and don't be tempted by the price or the fancy jargon SanDisk are trying to feed you, spend a little extra and get something reliable.
Works great with OSX - 27 Jun 2007

I'm not sure why the reviews below talk about issues with OSX? I assume the issues are related to their model of Mac rather than OSX as an OS.
I have an Intel MacBook, and a 2GB Cruzer Titanium, and it's fantastic - my only gripe is that I want an 8GB one!
It looks great, appears indestructible (have dropped it many times) and is very very fast.
Also works very well with Vista - used it as a ReadyBoost drive with no problems.
I removed all the custom software that was pre-installed on the drive as I have no need for backup/encryption software.
so far so good................ - 25 Oct 2006

i read what other reviewers had to say and i found the memory stick to be perfect(except for use, with a mac pc). i had mines for about six months and no problems at all. i use it at work. going from pc to pc and i had not a single fault with it at all(knocks on wood)................as for the usb connection, like very other memory stick, you just got to be careful with it..........it would be nice if they had a smaller version of it(with the hard casing, blue light etc) but otherwise then that, i think it well worth it ! ! !
DO NOT BUY - 14 Oct 2006

DO NOT buy this product if you use MAC OSX, it is NOT compatible with MAC OSX regardless of what Amazon or Sandisk tell you. Every time I connect this to a Mac it thinks I've inserted a blank CD aswell. If you try to eject the pen without first trashing the phantom CD you Mac will freeze.
Useless waste of money I would prefer to give it NO STARS
Good storage... but terrible to use - 10 Feb 2006

These sound impossible to destroy, so bought one to put on my keyring... not quite that simple in reality.
Sure, the case is crush proof... but that doesn't mean that it will live up to the rigours of day to day life. The reason for this is that the attachment point for the keyring is unreliable. Basically twisting the ring causes the case to split along its length and the ring to fall out (leaving you with the stick floating around by itself). The laynard works no better as you still need the ring in place.
If they'd glued the case shut it might have helped (I'm going to have to try this myself as I can't have the stick keep coming away from the ring/lanyard), but clearly this hasn't been field tested.
Further, less serious problem, is that the USB connection is unreliable - slightest knock of the stick is enough to break the connection.
Worth the money? I think not.
