Very easy to install, reasonably straightforward to get working, functions perfectly. Looks discrete in the PCMCIA slot, although I would have preferred a blue LED to the acid green that it has.

Bluetooth is the protocol that will bring it all together. It lets your phone talk to your laptop and you can access the internet over it as well as backing up your contacts. (anyone ever dropped their phone in water?).
Software can be a bit tricky to configure though at the moment but this will improve with time once the documenation catches up with the whizz kid programmers.
