Although it's a pretty basic package and doesn't include a FW cable I bought one of these to use with an Apple PowerBook, to connect to a MOTU 828kII firewire audio interface. It works exactly as advertised and was up and running as soon as I plugged it in. 12 months later and it's still working fine.

This is a great card and a good price, but be warned it does not come with an i.link cable so make sure you also order one of these.
